Belarus, Russia to continue working on universal visa

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will continue working on introducing one visa for the two countries. The information was released by State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota after the session of the high-level group of the Union State Council of Ministers on 28 October, BelTA has learned.

“Nobody argues against the idea but there are the questions of when it should be done, on what terms, and taking into account what factors. All of those should be addressed now,” noted the official.

The matter was touched upon during the session of the high-level group of the Union State Council of Ministers on 28 October. “A lot has been said about creating the common migration space and the common visa space. A lot of work is yet to be done in this field. There are a number of issues left to be addressed but we came to terms on how we will go about it,” explained the State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs and the border guard agencies will continue the consultations. “Nobody rejects the idea. The question is what the optimal way is and when it should be done,” concluded Grigory Rapota.

Apart from that, participants of the session of the high-level group of the Union State Council of Ministers also discussed how Belarus and Russia can help each other on foreign markets.
