Belarus, Russia expected to come to understanding on remaining roadmaps

MOSCOW, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will come up with a common denominator on the remaining roadmaps on tighter integration, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko on the sidelines of the 14th international conference Eurasian Economic Integration on 29 November.

The ambassador reminded that the sides will have to reach a consensus, a common denominator on the remaining roadmaps and reconcile them without provisos soon, by 7 December. “We are working on it now. I am convinced that the standing tasks will be accomplished soon,” the ambassador said. He stressed that it will be up to the presidents to say the final word.

“The existing differences of opinion regarding the remaining roadmaps primarily stem from problems of the year 2020 such as how much natural gas will cost as from 1 January and how the tax maneuver will be compensated. These things are being discussed,” the diplomat noted.

As for 2021, it is necessary to lay the groundwork for creating common markets of oil, natural gas, and electricity among other things by 2021.
