Belarus, Russia eager to step up cooperation in oncology

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are interested in stepping up cooperation in the area of oncology, BelTA learned from Russian Healthcare Minister Veronika Skvortsova.

She said: “We are very much interested in oncology. We are talking about the need to cooperate and make transition to personified approaches. We are talking about modern oncological vaccines, oncolytic viruses, and cell technologies.”

In her words, Belarusian and Russian specialists intend to cooperate in the area of radiodiagnosis, radiotherapy, and proton technologies. “We've opened a nuclear medicine center in the Russian city of Dimitrovgrad. It is the most powerful center in Europe. It will provide medical aid to patients from Belarus as well,” the Russian healthcare minister noted.
