MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) - Belarus and Romania will study the feasibility of launching a direct flight connecting Minsk and Bucharest. This question, among others, was discussed during a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich and State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism of Romania Cristina-Ionela Tarteata, BelTA learned from the press service the Foreign Ministry.
The parties discussed the bilateral cooperation in tourism, including the early finalization of the draft intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in this sector. Particular attention was paid to the 2nd European Games due in Minsk in 2019.
The head of the diplomatic mission held a presentation of the tourist potential of Belarus. The parties agreed to arrange meetings of tour operators of the two countries during a meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Romanian commission for economic cooperation to be held in conjunction with the INDAGRA international agricultural fair in Bucharest in early November.
Cristina-Ionela Tarteata stressed the importance of the steps taken in Belarus to liberalize the visa legislation, which will make the country more attractive for tourists.
