Belarus, Poland plan to cooperate over shared waters

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) - Belarus and Poland plan to conclude an agreement on cooperation in protection and rational use of transboundary waters, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Yelena Meleshkova told BelTA.

The delegation of the Belarusian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection headed by deputy minister Andrei Khmel took part in a meeting of the Belarusian-Polish working group on water resources in Warsaw. During the meeting the parties discussed the draft agreement between the governments of Poland and Belarus on cooperation in protection and rational use of transboundary waters and harmonized the text of the document.

Andrei Khmel also met with the deputy minister for marine economy and inland navigation, and senior officials of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management of Poland.
