Belarus' PM expects timely commissioning of Dinamo Stadium, rhythmic gymnastics center

MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Dinamo Stadium and the rhythmic gymnastics center in Minsk should be commissioned on schedule, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he examined the status of construction of the sports facilities that will host events of the 2019 European Games on 2 June, BelTA has learned.

Before visiting Dinamo Stadium, Andrei Kobyakov examined its surroundings, including Minsk Clinical Hospital No.3, and gave instructions to spruce up the location. During the tour of Dinamo Stadium that is currently under renovation, the prime minister drew the attention of the Sports and Tourism Ministry and the construction companies to the importance of commissioning the facilities that will host the European Games on schedule, and to the fact that all necessary resources for that are in place.

The in-situ concrete works at Dinamo Stadium have almost been finished. Finishing works are underway at the Northern, Southern, and Eastern stands. The stands are 90% ready for the installation of seats. The erection of the structural steelwork of the roof that will cover 60-70% of the seats is one of the most difficult stages of the renovation project. In general, the stadium is half-way complete. The renovation works are scheduled to be finished in December 2017.

At the construction site of the rhythmic gymnastics center, the prime minister was informed that the works proceed as scheduled. Minskproyekt Company Director Alexander Yarmolovich said that the construction of the center is to be completed by 8 March 2018. “There is a great deal of work ahead of us, but I believe that everything will be finished on schedule, without any delay,” he noted.

The Council of Ministers will host a meeting of the national organizing committee for the 2019 European Games in Belarus on 2 June. Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov personally examined the sports facilities that are gearing up to host the European Games ahead of the meeting.
