Belarus' Interior Ministry to cut administrative staff in 2017

MOGILEV, 23 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian Interior Ministry will downsize its administrative staff in 2017, Major-General Yuri Karayev, Deputy Interior Minister, Chief of the Internal Troops of the Belarusian Interior Ministry, told reporters as he took part in the meeting of the interior office of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee on 23 January, BelTA has learned.

Yuri Karayev said that measures will be taken to reduce the number of executive officers who are not involved in criminal investigations or protection of public order. The main objective is to eliminate overlapping functions among different units of the Interior Ministry. “This will help us reduce the burden on the budget, speed up the decision-making process, and improve the efficiency of internal affairs agencies,” Yuri Karayev noted.
