Belarus highlights importance of international anti-corruption cooperation

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Belarus suggests developing cooperation with the justice bodies of the European Union in the fight against corruption, the press service of the Justice Ministry told BelTA following the EU and EaP informal meeting of Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs in Innsbruck, Austria

The event was focused on the ways to promote the rule of law and reduce the breeding ground for corruption. In this regard, the participants discussed the legal and practical steps to promote the rule of law in the fight against corruption. Belarus' First Deputy Justice Minister Sergei Zadiran noted the importance of applying an integrated approach that should include corruption prevention measures. He also urged to develop permanent channels of international interaction between the justice bodies.

The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Justice of Austria within the framework of the country's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
