Belarus has potential for active implementation of innovations in Belt and Road project

ASTANA, 16 November (BelTA) - Belarus has a huge potential for active implementation of innovations as part of the Belt and Road initiative, President of Huawei Central Asia and Caucasian Region James Chen told BelTA during Huawei Central Asia Innovation Day in Astana.

In his opinion, necessary infrastructure is an important factor of digital development. “Huawei is working with Belarus, using the country's advantages and conditions,” the director said.

He stressed that digital innovations are rapidly entering everyone's life, creating better conditions for modern life. As an example, the director cited the Smart City system, which is also being introduced in the Belarusian capital. “Let us continue working together in order to create a secure digital road,” James Chen said.

During the First Huawei Central Asia Innovation Day the company called for uniting efforts in creating an ecosystem of information and communication technologies. The company also came up with an initiative to develop the best digital Silk Road through innovation, openness and mutual benefit. The First Huawei Central Asia Innovation Day was themed Explore the Way to Digital Silk Road. Invited to the event were more than 150 representatives of the industrial elite, state bodies, research institutes, scientists and media from 11 Eurasian countries.

Belarus is an active participant of all the processes in the construction of the new Silk Road. The country's government pays a lot of attention to the implementation of innovations.
