MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – No decision has been made yet whether the performance demonstrated by young Belarusians in secondary school needs to be taken into account during the university admittance process. Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko made the relevant statement after the Belarus president heard out a report on progress of the university admittance campaign and the preparation of the national education system for the new academic year on 15 August, BelTA has learned.
Vasily Zharko said: “We discussed whether in the future it is necessary to take into account the grade point average during admittance to universities. There are several matters to consider in this regard. School students work hard to improve their knowledge. And we need to rule out subjectivism, too. A matter for the future.”
