Belarus government working on measures to raise salaries of low-paid workers

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian government is preparing a number of measures to raise earnings of low-paid workers, BelTA learned from Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas after the head of government delivered his report to the head of state on 16 October.

Sergei Rumas said: “Next year the head of state would like the government to focus on people, who are paid small salaries. The government is now busy preparing a set of measures to make salaries of low-income Belarusians grow faster.”

The government also expects the average salary in the country in September 2018 to reach Br1,000 and intends to keep the average salary at least as high.
