MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) - The ballet company of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus is setting off on a tour to Germany and Austria, BelTA learned from the theater.

“This is the sixth time the Belarusian artists will tour these countries during the Christmas and New Year holidays. On 9 December-18 January the Belarusian ballet company will perform in the largest theaters in Bonn and Bremen, Hamburg and Cologne, Berlin and Hanover, Munich and Dortmund, Salzburg and Vienna and show Pyotr Tchaikovsky's legendary ballets Swan Lake, The Nutcracker or another Christmas story.

“Tours is part of our profession. Long journeys, almost daily performances, different theatrical venues… Tours is a big and hard work. But our potential is long known. The fact that we have been invited for the sixth time says a lot. It means the European audience loves us,” said Yury Troyan, the artistic director of the ballet company of the Belarusian Bolshoi theater, People Artist of Belarus.

Yury Troyan expressed the hope that the Belarusian ballet dancers will be treated to a warm welcome this time as well.
