MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – The use and sale of plastic disposable cutlery in Belarus' public catering outlets will be banned as from 1 January 2021, BelTA learned from the website of Belarus' Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART).
Resolution of the Council of Ministers No.797 of 27 November 2019 introduces amendments to the rules of sale of certain types of goods and public catering services and the provision on the procedure to work out and approve the corresponding list of goods. “The document aims to phase out the use of plastic disposable cutlery in public catering outlets. The resolution introduces a ban on the use and sale of plastic disposable cutlery in the country's public catering outlets as from 1 January 2021,” the ministry said.
The list of single-use plastic products will be compiled by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade within three months after the official publication of the resolution.
