Away from the war, or Syrian children on vacation in Belarus

b>At the invitation of the Belarusian head of state, 80 children from Syria aged between 8-14 came to Belarus for recuperation holidays. 40 kids are staying in the national educational and health center Zubryonok and others are hosted by the Rodnichok summer camp of the Beltelecom company.

The program of the holidays is very packed. Literally every minute is scheduled: morning exercise, breakfast, excursions, medical procedures. There is practically no free time left.

The first excursion was to the agro-tourist center Nanosy-Novoselye. Here the kids learned how the Belarusian baked bread in old days, what samovars were for and many other interesting things.

The kids enjoyed a concert of Belarusian folk songs and clay and wood master classes.

“Syrian children love to play, run, play sports, especially football. They like to ride bikes. But not all of them can do it at home. The kids are curious, love to learn something new,” said Artem Semenets, a teacher of the national educational and health center Zubryonok.

"I liked Zubryonok very much. I am grateful to your president that he invited us. We all feel comfortable here. It is +45°C in Syria now. Therefore, we are happy with the weather in Belarus,” Mulgam Sayid shared his impressions. Especially he liked teachers and said he will remember Belarusian nature all his life.

12-year-old Salih Salim said she wants her people in Syria to smile and enjoy life as people in Belarus do. In the future, the girl wants to bring happiness to people at home.

The children were impressed with a horse show most of all. At first, they were afraid of the animals that were passing by too closely. Having grown bolder, the children started clapping their hands loudly and discussing the show. After the show the children ran to the horses and some of them even decided to take a ride.

Time for lunch. A special menu was developed for the guests. It includes a lot of vegetables, fruit and, of course, sweets.

The children undergo a variety of health improving procedures, including contactless and aquatic massage, pearl baths, halotherapy, and oxygen cocktails.

This is just the beginning of the vacation in Belarus. The Syrian children will soon travel to see the castles in Mir and Nesvizh, attend different festivals, and see a lot of other famous sights of Belarus.
