ASEAN countries show interest in Belarus' experience in training anti-terrorism specialists

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – ASEAN countries showed interest in Belarus' experience in the training of anti-terrorism specialists, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA following the participation of the delegation of the Special Training Center in the 16th Senior Official Meeting on Transnational Crime of the ASEAN member states in Jakarta.

The Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Head of the Special Training Center Dmitry Perevalov made a presentation on the training of anti-terrorism specialists at the 12th meeting of the ASEAN Working Group on Counter-Terrorism. The participants of the meeting showed a considerable interest the presentation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

During the visit, the delegation held meetings with the senior officials of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency of Indonesia, International Relations Division of the National Police of Indonesia, and Jakarta Center for Law Enforcement Cooperation, and held talks with potential Indonesian partners. “The parties discussed possibilities of cooperation with the countries of the region in the training of anti-terrorism specialists,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
