MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Mobile roaming charges in the Belarus-Russia Union State can be scrapped, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV Channel, BelTA has learned.
Roaming charges have already been abolished in the European Union. “This sets a good example for the Union State, although I believe that the companies (mobile service providers – BelTA's note) will not be enthusiastic about such a step. Nevertheless, it is necessary that they accept it and make use of it,” Alexander Surikov noted.
The ambassador pointed out that the matter should be discussed in the Belarus-Russia Union State.
