MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – The agreement on publishing a series of books about Chinese culture in Belarus will be signed at the Bеіjіng Intеrnаtіоnаl Bооk Fаіr (BІBF 2018), BelTA learned from the Information Ministry.
The series of books titled “Key Concepts of Chinese Philosophy and Culture” will see the light in the Mastatskaya Litaratura publishing house. The company will sign the agreement with a Beijing publishing house specializing in education aids and foreign languages. This will be another step to implement the memorandum of cooperation between the Belarusian Information Ministry and China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television on the project to translate and publish Chinese and Belarusian classical literary works in 2015-2020.
As part of the memorandum, the Mastatskaya Litaratura publishing house is also implementing the book project “Bright Signs: Poets of China”. Books from this series are published every year.
The 25th Beijing International Book Fair will take place on 22-26 August. The expo will feature fiction, non-fiction and educational literature from the Belarusian book publishing houses such as Mastatskaya Litaratura, Belarus, Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia, Narodnaya Asveta, Vysheishaya Shkola, and others. Book publishers will also take part in a specialized forum and hold working meetings. Belarus and China have been developing relations between professional organizations and associations in book publishing, typography and distribution of printed products as part of the program on comprehensive strategic partnership for 2014-2018.
