14 companies receive CIS Quality Excellence Award

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – The CIS Quality Excellence Award has been conferred upon 14 enterprises and organizations. The award ceremony took place at the CIS headquarters in Minsk on 18 June, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian laureates of the award include Mogotex (Mogilev), Grodno Meat-Packing Plant, and Grodno State Medical University. The National Airport Minsk was awarded a diploma.

Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev noted that Belarusian companies are always among the winners.

Other winners include companies and organizations from Azerbaijan (Azertexnolayn, production of steel pipes; Gazelli Group, perfumery production), Kazakhstan (Karlskrona LC AB, production of pumps; Petroleum, services; Ordabasy Kus, production of foodstuffs and agricultural products), and Russia (Mirny Regional Technical College, Yakutia; National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”; Russian Railways; Inpredservice, services for foreign missions; and Kuban State Technological University).

Ten organizations were recognized laureates of the award, another four were named diploma holders. The laureates and the diploma holders received diplomas and prizes and the right to use the emblem of the CIS Quality Excellence Award for the period of three years. The information about the winners, laureates and diploma holders is available on the websites of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the CIS and the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus.

The CIS Quality Excellence Award is the CIS most prestigious award celebrating outstanding quality achievements. It is aimed at encouraging production of high-quality and competitive products, excellent services, export growth and improving business reputation of CIS companies inside the CIS and in the global market. The contest is held in two stages. Applications are first processed and shortlisted by national standardization, metrology and certification authorities. After that the successful candidates are considered by expert commissions.
