Yuri Bondar appointed Belarus' culture minister

MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko appointed Yuri Bondar Belarus' culture minister. Previously he worked as rector of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, BelTA has learned.

The head of state remarked that the situation at the Culture Ministry has never been easy because creative people are working there. “There has always been much gossip and chitchat there. This is life. However, we must do our best to organize work in a way to minimize such things and to encourage people to work hard. You should take an honest and impartial position, to organize people's work,” the president said.

Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that the majority of people working in the Culture Ministry want to work well. “Those who complicate the process of work should be fired, they should not have any influence on the creative environment and creative workers. You understand that there is no room for mistakes. We cannot wait for a year or two until you change the situation. We have no time,” the head of state stressed.
