The Slovenian boy wrote a letter to Alexander Lukashenko as part of the My Piece for Peace initiative which was launched in February 2016 and is held under the aegis of Slovenia President Borut Pahor. This initiative aims to attract attention of the general public and heads of state to the issue of security and freedom of children, in particular, children of refugees who lost their homes, families, friends, and access to education. Students from various countries share their initiatives, drawings, videos and projects organized at their schools and aimed at promoting tolerance, solidarity, and multiculturalism.

The letter from the president was read out and handed over to the boy together with Belarusian souvenirs at school in the presence of teachers, classmates, and his parents.

The event was organized with the assistance of Belarus' Honorary Consul in Ljubljana Janez Skrabec.
