Presidents of Belarus, Georgia meet in Tbilisi

TBILISI, 22 March (BelTA) – The meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Georgia President Giorgi Margvelashvili is taking place in Tbilisi, BelTA informs.

The Belarusian leader has arrived in the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi. This is the official residence of the Georgian head of state. It is located in the historical district known as Avlabari. The palace was built in 2009 on the basis of a neoclassical edifice with the elements of the Greco-Roman architecture and Italian renaissance. The building is decorated with three columns and a glass dome.

After the official welcome ceremony the two leaders will have one-on-one and extended negotiations. After the talks the sides are expected to sign a number of international documents.

BelTA reported earlier that the presidents will talk over a wide range of issues with an emphasis on the development of the trade and economic cooperation. They will also discuss political contacts and the situation in the world and in the region.
