MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – The population census will take place in the Republic of Belarus on 4-30 October 2019. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed a corresponding decree on 24 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The population census will be conducted in the form of a survey by temporary census takers.
The decree specifies the list of categories of people who can be appointed as census takers by local executive and regulatory authorities. Temporary census takers will work on a free-of-charge basis, will be released from work or studies for the period of the preparations for and holding of the population census. Their workplaces (positions) and places at universities, average salaries (scholarships), pensions, and allowances will be protected. Temporary census takers will be provided with the voluntary accident insurance coverage.
The document aims to equip government bodies with unified approaches to the organization and holding of the population census, prompt resolution of emerging issues, acquisition of comprehensive and objective information.
