New Belarusian deputy defense minister appointed

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Sergei Simonenko has been appointed Deputy Defense Minister for Armament, Chief of Armament of the Belarusian army. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 22 May, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.

Igor Lotenkov, who has held the post up till now, will be transferred to the reserve due to reaching the age of retirement. He will keep the right to wear the military uniform and insignia.

Alexander Lukashenko also signed another decree to appoint Andrei Fedin First Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of the Main Directorate for Planning and Technical Support Coordination.
