Lukashenko wants special approaches to deciding salaries for scientists

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – It is necessary to develop special approaches to deciding salaries for scientists, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the government conference held in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on 7 April to discuss problems and prospects of developing Belarusian science, BelTA has learned.

The procedure for deciding salaries for scientists and researchers was discussed during the conference. Alexander Lukashenko believes that in this regard, “it is necessary to develop some principles, approaches, and methods”. Certain steps have already been made to achieve this in healthcare and education.

“Scientists are special, gifted people. They should not be distracted by financial concerns,” the head of state said. Alexander Lukashenko noted that scientists should work first of all for the sake of science. The state is interested in getting results from their work, he added.

As for the housing issue, Alexander Lukashenko promised that it will be solved.
