Lukashenko wants balanced city development plan for Mogilev

MOGILEV, 22 July (BelTA) – It is needed to prepare a balanced city development plan for Mogilev, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as heard out a report on the development of the region, BelTA informs.

“I arrived in Mogilev from Minsk. I saw beautiful houses, but there is not enough gloss, beautification and amenities for people. There is no harmony,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The President noted that other oblast capitals have been put in order, they are comfortable cities. However, Mogilev is lagging behind in this respect. “The government should think what can be done here. But the main thing is to have a balanced city modernization plan,” the head of state said and urged to prepare it by the end of the year.

Alexander Lukashenko added that Mogilev residents should be also involved in the beautification of the city. “Mogilev residents are responsive people,” he said.

“The city of Mogilev should be put in ideal order in 2016-2020. It is good that there is profit in the city's budget,” he stressed. “I am convinced that we will cope with the task to beautify Mogilev. The city should be put in order, Mogilev has everything for it, especially its pearl – the Dnieper River.”
