Lukashenko to pay official visits to Egypt, Sudan 15-17 January

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will pay official visits to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Sudan on 15-17 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

In Cairo, the Belarusian head of state will hold one-on-one and extended negotiations with Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The sides will discuss the current state of bilateral relations and their enhancement prospects. The development of the mutually beneficial trade and economic ties, industrial cooperation will be in the spotlight. The agenda also includes the expansion of the Belarusian-Egyptian contacts in the humanitarian field, including science, education, healthcare, and tourism.

The sides are expected to sign bilateral documents after the talks.

Alexander Lukashenko's schedule also includes the meetings with Egypt Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and other officials. Besides, the Belarusian President will take part in the opening of the Belarusian-Egyptian business forum.

In Khartoum, Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with Sudan President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir. The sides will discuss the prospects and major priorities of the Belarusian-Sudanese relations development, outline concrete steps to expand them. Special attention will be drawn to economic cooperation. The sides are expected to sign a number of agreements on bolstering interaction in various fields.

The Belarusian head will also meet with Sudanese Vice President Hassabo Mohammed Abdel Rahman and Speaker of the National Assembly of Sudan Ibrahim Ahmed Omer.

During the visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Sudan, Khartoum will host the Belarusian-Sudanese business forum.
