Lukashenko to deliver speech at 5th Belarusian People's Congress

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will deliver a speech at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress which will take place in Minsk on 22-23 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

In his speech the head of state is expected to mention the results and prospects of the country's current social and economic development, outline topical issues and possible solutions. The speech will also focus on Belarus' foreign policy, the development of mutually beneficial partnership with various countries and integration associations with an emphasis on the trade and economic cooperation.

The opening ceremony of the 5th Belarusian People's Congress and the President's speech will be broadcast live on 22 June by Belarusian TV channels and the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio. The event will begin at 12:00.

Alexander Lukashenko is also expected to take part in the second day of the 5th Belarusian People's Congress. The head of state will deliver a speech at the final sitting of the people's congress. It will be also broadcast live from 12:00 to 13:00.

Televised versions of the President's speech and the highlights of the 5th Belarusian People's Congress will be broadcast by Belarusian TV channels at 21:00 on 22 and 23 June.
