Lukashenko suggests setting up joint ventures in Indonesia

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – Belarus suggests setting up joint ventures in Indonesia, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Indonesia Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu on 28 April, BelTA has learned.

The President stressed that there are no closed topics in cooperation between the two countries. Belarus is ready to enhance cooperation with Indonesia both in the military industry and the civil sectors of the economy. “It is very important for Indonesia and Belarus that we can set up joint ventures in Indonesia to produce finished products and sell them in other countries of the region,” the read of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko also emphasized that he would like to once again invite the President of Indonesia to visit Belarus. As part of the visit, the sides will be able to outline the strategy of developing relations between the two countries in the short-term period.

Indonesia Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, in turn, thanked Alexander Lukashenko for the warm welcome and added that the President of Indonesia will be briefed on the results of this visit. “I will certainly extend your invitation,” Ryamizard Ryacudu added.

The military delegation of Indonesia stays in Belarus on a visit on 28-30 April. The delegation is expected to hold talks with the high-ranking officials of the State Defense Industries Committee and the Defense Ministry of Belarus. Foreign guests will also visit the Air Force and Air Defense Command Center of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, and the 558th aviation repair plant.
