Lukashenko signs Union State budget for 2018

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) - The Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the budget of the Union State for 2018, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told the media, BelTA has learned.

“It is very important that we work not being tied rigidly to the timing of the sessions of the Supreme State Council or the Council of Ministers. We keep to the agenda and address all the issues that we can in a routine mode. One of the main issues on the agenda of the Supreme State Council is the adoption of the budget for 2018. We have cleared the document in all departments not to slow the budget process down. Alexander Lukashenko just said he signed the budget,” Grigory Rapota noted.

He added that the issue would not be discussed at the upcoming meeting. “The Supreme State Council will be informed that this issue has been resolved on a routine basis,” the State Secretary said.

The Supreme State Council is expected to consider one budgetary issue. “We need the council to approve the results of the Union State budget execution in 2017,” said Grigory Rapota.
