Lukashenko: Requirements towards all branches of power will be growing tougher

MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – Requirements towards all branches of power will be growing tougher, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA has learned.

“Today, our number one priority is to boost export and investment. I am very tough on this because I know that these issues can be solved today. If it were otherwise, there would be no such pressure. Pressure on authorities, on all branches of power will be increasing. We must show the whole world that we are able to function as a sovereign independent state. If someone wants to give up, it is their choice,” the head of state said.

“I have not yet examined closely the Q1 results, but I think everyone, including government officials understand that lying will do no good. There are certain positive trends, they say. I am ready to believe them. We achieved these positive results literally in March and a few days of April. We completely failed January and February,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.
