Lukashenko, Rahmon discuss bilateral cooperation development by telephone

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – In the morning of 5 October Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon. The two leaders disused the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The heads of state pointed out the interest in the further enactment of Belarus-Tajikistan cooperation. Special attention was drawn to the trade and economy, including to interaction in the manufacturing sector and agriculture, organization of the delivery of equipment to Tajikistan.

The presidents also discussed the interaction of the two countries on the international arena and the schedule of future contacts. Alexander Lukashenko invited Emomali Rahmon to pay a working visit to Belarus for the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Minsk. It was noted that the visit will help promote trustworthy political dialogue, will give an impetus to the trade and economic relations and expand the legal framework.

Besides, during the telephone conversation the leaders of the two countries discussed issues on the international and regional agenda.

The Belarusian head of state wished happy birthday to his Tajikistan counterpart. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Tajikistan managed to preserve its integrity and independence, make considerable achievements in the social and economic development and strengthen its authority on the international arena. Emomali Rahmon has made a big contribution to it.
