MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko promised to continue a strong anti-intermediation policy in procurement as he spoke at the nationwide seminar on the improvement and development of Belarus' housing and utility sector on 20 October, BelTA has learned.
“We will get back to this topic later. Intermediary structures involved in the procurement of raw materials and sales of end products are not on today's agenda. This is about state-run enterprises, in particular. They will receive special attention. This is where all the corruption is. Almost everyone who has recently landed up in jail have been convicted of corruption. Once you start using intermediaries, you will face law enforcement officers and controllers. This is my firm promise,” the head of state emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko added that procurement of fuel from intermediary structures without relevant competitive procedures leads to the growing cost of thermal energy.
