Lukashenko, Omar al-Bashir hold official talks in Khartoum

KHARTOUM, 17 January (BelTA) – The official talks of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Sudan President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir take place in Khartoum, BelTA has learned.

After the one-on-one one talks the sides will hold extended negotiations.

The sides are expected to discuss the prospects and the main avenues of advancing Belarusian-Sudanese relations. Concrete steps to broaden cooperation will be discussed. Close attention will be paid to matters of economic cooperation.

The Belarusian head of state and the members of the Belarusian delegation arrived in Khartoum yesterday.

There are plans to sign agreements on advancing cooperation in various areas. In particular, Belarus and Sudan are expected to sign an agreement on friendly relations and cooperation.

Simultaneously with the official negotiations (at the presidential palace), Khartoum plays host to the Belarusian-Sudanese business forum.
