Lukashenko off to Serbia on official visit

MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has left Belarus on an official visit to Serbia. The plane with the Belarusian leader on board has departed from Minsk National Airport, BelTA has learned.

In Belgrade, Aleksandr Lukashenko is expected to hold talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The two heads of state will discuss political dialogue and economic cooperation between the countries. “The presidents will focus on the prospects to increase trade, initiatives to set up joint companies and launch investment projects. The heads of state will also take a look at the regional and world agenda, interaction in the international arena,” the press service said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko is also set to meet with President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojkovic and the country's MPs.

On 3 December, Belgrade will host the Belarusian-Serbian business forum. Businessmen of the two countries will discuss ways of cooperation in industrial production and mechanical engineering, agriculture, petrochemistry, production of food products, pharmaceutics, light industry, woodworking and other sectors. It is expected that during the business forum the parties will sign contracts on the delivery of Belarusian products worth $100 million.
