Lukashenko, Nazarbayev discuss bilateral agenda, problems in EEU by telephone

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with his Kazakhstani counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev on 20 February on the initiative of the Kazakhstani side, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

One of the major issues was the relations in the Eurasian Economic Union. The sides expressed mutual concerns over the existing problems.

The Kazakhstan president expressed concerns over the topical issues in the relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. He is convinced that all the issues will be solved in the union.

Besides, Nursultan Nazarbayev informed the Belarusian head of state about the problems between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and the ways to solve them.

The sides discussed the entire spectrum of Belarus-Kazakhstan relations. Nursultan Nazarbayev invited Alexander Lukashenko to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the summer of 2017 and to visit EXPO-2017 Astana which will feature the Belarusian national exposition.

The president reaffirmed the resolution to enhance allied relations.
