Lukashenko lays wreath at Tomb of Heydar Aliyev

BAKU, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Tomb of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor in Baku on 29 November, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian head of state also laid flowers at the tombs of the wife, uncle, and brother of the former President of Azerbaijan.

Important social and political figures of Azerbaijan are buried in the Alley of Honor. Heydar Aliyev was buried there in December 2003.

The monument in the form of an artificial hill was unveiled there in the first anniversary of the President's passing. It symbolizes the native place of the politician – the city of Nakhchivan. The monument to the President stands on the granite pedestal.

All foreign delegations arriving in Azerbaijan traditionally visit the Tomb of Heydar Aliyev and lay wreaths there.

On 29 November Alexander Lukashenko also laid a wreath at the memorial in Martyrs' Lane.
