Lukashenko: Everything the people created will not be sold for a song

MINSK, 7 January (BelTA) – Everything that the nation created will not sold for a mere song, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the Christmas church service at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk on 7 January, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that the new year would be as difficult as the previous one. “It is not because we cannot work and not because we cannot see or do anything. The world changes. It is difficult to adjust to the changing world. The things we have today will be different tomorrow,” the President explained.

“We, as a big ship in this huge sea, are trying to keep afloat. It is hard for us to stick to the course we have chosen. However, the course we have determined for ourselves will remain sacred. It is the protection of human rights and the creation of necessary conditions for people's decent life. Please do not listen to all the current talking as difficult times always give rise to various theories such as reforming, destroying what have been created and building something absolutely new,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to the President, the country has lived through such times before and will not destroy anything. “We have a lot of good things. We always get rid of bad things. We will live this way and will improve all the good we create. Everything the people created will not be sold for a song,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

“We will not do this. Everything that was created by people should belong to people. We see what has happened there where everything was divided: oligarchs made their appearance, armed themselves and started fighting against each other, involving ordinary people, the whole society. Do we need this? No,” the head of state stressed.

Alexander Lukashenko added that “we will adopt and rest upon all the best and valuable things this world possesses.”
