BEIJING, 30 September (BelTA) – Even a good cause should not allow improper means to promote it, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the meeting with students of Beijing University in the Chinese capital on 30 September, BelTA has learned.
“At the UN summit I said that the main reason behind all the crises is in the artificial and disproportional cultivation of individual human rights and freedoms at the expense of public interests. The human rights protection slogan is used as a cover to overthrow governments, destroy states, organize military intervention. In fact, chaos and anarchy are planted and result in numerous human losses. Improper means are unacceptable, even for a good cause,” said the President.
Alexander Lukashenko stated that “color revolutions” in various countries did not bring them peace and wellbeing. On the contrary, they resulted in permanent instability, unbalanced state mechanisms, loss of control and declining living standards.
According to the head of state, today's international policy can be described by strong competition between the states in every sphere of life, including its economic, scientific and cultural components. The situation in the world has been exacerbating, with new serious challenges coming to the forefront. In particular, the President pointed out the problems of radicalization in Middle East, the creation of the Islamic State, conflicts in Syria and North Africa, and Ukraine. This also includes international terrorism, large-scale migration, and a wide use of practices of imposing sanctions in the world policy. “We must not disregard such unsettled issues as poverty, child and maternal mortality, access to education and healthcare, morality, religious, cultural and national freedom, environment, inequality and others. Despite recent progress in the life on our planet, we have to acknowledge today that over many years the world could not have managed to overcome global perils, but have given birth to new ones,” the Belarusian leader said.
“Everyone know, however, that new challenges mean new chances. The world community must find solutions to any problems. The key principle lies here not in the confrontation and violence but in mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation for the common good of humankind,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
