Lukashenko decides to reappoint Belarus' prime minister and vice premiers

MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has made a decision to reappoint the prime minister and vice ministers. He made the statement at the session to discuss topical issues of the social and economic development on 16 December, BelTA has learned.

“First of all, I would like to focus on the composition of the future government and certain topical issues in the economy, especially in the context of the yesterday's talks in Moscow,” the head of state noted.

“As for the composition of the government, I have made a decision today to appoint those present at the meeting prime minister and vice ministers. I would like to listen to your opinions, your evaluation of the performance of current ministers before finally forming the government,” the President stressed.

“However, as I have said several times, we are criticized in the so-called opposition mass media that the government is not appointed. Perhaps, they forgot that the government was formed before the presidential election. We have done this for the second time in our history to show who will work in the government if the president is elected,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

“Nevertheless, we agreed that in about six months or a bit more we will find an opportunity to evaluate the performance of the new government; besides, people working in the government will understand whether they like this job or not,” the head of state said.

In his words, the Belarusian government is efficient. But it has to be reappointed legally, it is needed to submit proposals to the prime minister and harmonize the issue with the House of Representatives.
