Lukashenko congratulates Belarusians on 100th anniversary of October Revolution

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Belarusian people on the occasion of the100th anniversary of the October Revolution, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“There are milestones and events in the world history which have a strong impact on the fates of the nations and determine their further development.

In October 1917, a country with a conceptually new pattern of government proclaiming the right of countries to self-determination emerged in the political map of the world,” the message of greetings reads.

The head of state remarked that social and economic principles shaped in the period of the Soviet Union formed the basis for the development of the industrial, scientific, agricultural, and social potential of the modern Belarusian state.

“Today we are living in a sovereign independent country. Using our skills and talents, we are building a strong and stable state which prioritizes its people, true patriots of their Homeland,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
