MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent his Border Guard Day greetings to top-ranking officers, the active-duty personnel and veterans of the Belarusian border service, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Protecting borders of the fatherland has always been considered a job for courageous warriors, who steadfastly protect the native land from any encroachments. We bow low to the memory of the fighters, who were the first to face the enemy during the Great Patriotic War and paid with their lives for our peaceful future,” the message reads.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the current generation of border guard servicemen honors and multiplies the combat traditions of their predecessors, working hard to combat international terrorism, illegal migration, smuggling and other crimes. “I am confident that in the face of new risks and challenges of modern times you will continue defending our inviolable borders with honor as true patriots,” stressed the head of state.
The President expressed his gratitude to veterans of the border service, who had demonstrated a true example of dedication to the motherland and selfless service to the nation.
