MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarus is an independent state promoting the ideas of peace and social justice, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his message of greetings on the occasion of the Day of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Every one of us should understand that the allegiance to the Homeland begins with the respect for the national symbols and heroic history. Belarus is an independent state promoting the ideas of peace and social justice. It is vigorously developing and enhancing its international authority. This is a great achievement of our hardworking and courageous people building their future with confidence,” the message of greetings reads.
Alexander Lukashenko remarked that the state emblem and flag unite the citizens of sovereign Belarus, inspire and encourage us to bigger achievements, dedicated service to the Fatherland.
The Day of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday of May.
