Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Some members of the Council of the Republic have been honored with state awards in recognition of a big contribution to the implementation of the country's social and economic policy, development of legislation and parliamentary government. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed a corresponding decree on 28 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Order of Honor has been bestowed upon Director General of ZAO Stolichnoye Televideniye Yuri Koziyatko.

First Deputy Director General - Deputy Director General for Economy and Finance of OAO Grodno Azot Tamara Poslednyaya was awarded the medal “For Labor Merits”.

Director of the Palace of Culture in Molodechno Svetlana Soroko was honored with the Francysk Skaryna Medal.

The head of state also signed an executive order to present letters of commendation to a number of members of the Council of the Republic.

Besides, Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree to honor the representatives of various professions with state awards for many-year productive work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties, attainment of high production results in instrument-making and machine-building, a big personal contribution to the enhancement of international relations, development of the Belarusian journalism, road maintenance and forestry, science and education, culture, art, and sport.

The Order of Fatherland 2nd Class has been conferred on Director General of Vavilov Minsk Mechanic Plant – a managing company of BelOMO Holding Company Vyacheslav Bursky. The Order of Honor has been presented to Chairman of the State Control Committee for Grodno Oblast Vasily Gerasimov. The Medal of Francysk Skaryna has been bestowed upon director of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Galina Galkovskaya.
