Call for better development of infrastructure enterprises in Belarusian regions

MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – It is necessary to pay close attention to the development of infrastructure enterprises in the regions. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he appointed heads of municipal government agencies on 25 October, BelTA has learned.

The head of state underlined that districts play a major part in the country's administrative division as well as people's lives.

The President stated that after the USSR was dissolved, no proper attention was paid to the development of infrastructure enterprises in the districts. This is why his attention was directed to the matter during the latest working visits in the regions of the country. “If the chairman of the district executive committee as the district's administrator has no construction company to rely on or no service enterprises such as a major local retailer, an oil depot, or an agricultural machinery depot, it will be difficult to ensure effective work,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

“Instructions have been given to restore everything we had in the past and to raise the standards even higher,” said the head of state. The President underlined that the instruction had applied to all the service providers.

Alexander Lukashenko also urged to direct attention to the real sector in the districts.
