MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) - The communications satellite project Belintersat-1 is an important result of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in space exploration, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a telegram of congratulations he sent to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the successful launch of the Belintersat-1 satellite, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
"The communications satellite project Belintersat-1 is an important embodiment of the Belarusian-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and an important outcome of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in space exploration," said Xi Jinping. He expressed confidence that the satellite will help Belarus promote economic development, improve people's well-being and facilitate social progress.
The Chinese President assured that China will continue to make joint efforts to strengthen the innovative cooperation, continuously promote the Belarusian-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.
