Belarus to complete healthcare and education modernization in 2016-2020

GOMEL, 17 June (BelTA) – During the ongoing five-year period we will complete the modernization of the country's healthcare and education sectors, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he spoke to the personnel of the confectionary factory Spartak in Gomel on 17 June, BelTA has learned.

“We will invest in the development of the associated infrastructure and social facilities. I think that we will complete the modernization of the healthcare and education sectors in 2016-2020. Healthcare and education are the main things,” said the Belarusian leader.

Speaking about the potential of the state to finance the infrastructure development and construction of social facilities, Alexander Lukashenko stressed that this, first of all, will be facilitated by stable and efficient operation of companies such as Spartak. Taxes that the company transfers to the country's budget are used among other things to build social facilities. “People are talking about a crisis. There is no crisis. Yes, there is some instability. It is a pity that it affects our traditional markets and our brothers – Russia and Ukraine. This instability affects us as well,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
