Belarus-Russia Supreme State Council to meet in Minsk in June

MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – The Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State will meet in Minsk in June, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko told the media after the wreath ceremony at the Victory Monument to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Great Victory on 9 May, BelTA informs.

“We plan to hold a meeting of the Supreme State Council in June. I think it will take place in the second half of the month. The date will be announced later,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian head of state added that he is going to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin within a week. “The meeting will take closer to 14 May. We have already agreed upon it,” the Belarusian leader said.

Alexander Lukashenko added that the parties will talk over the state and prospects of bilateral relations, other issues.

“The meeting was suggested by the Russian side. I am looking forward to it. I would like to hear what issues we need to discuss. We are ready to discuss any of them,” the president said.
