Belarus President off to Turkmenistan on official visit

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has left for Turkmenistan on an official visit. The aircraft with the Belarusian head of sate on board departed from Minsk National Airport, BelTA has learned.

On 30 March, Alexander Lukashenko will hold one-on-one and extended negotiations with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. The sides plan to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest. Special attention will be drawn to the development of the trade and economic cooperation. After the talks the sides are expected to sign a number of bilateral documents.

The two leaders will also take part in the opening ceremony of the Belarusian embassy in Turkmenistan.

On 31 March, Alexander Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow will visit the Garlyk mining and processing factory which has been recently built by the Belarusian side. The heads of state will inaugurate the plant and tour the production facilities.
