MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has left Belarus to go to Kyrgyzstan on a working visit. The aircraft with the Belarusian head of state on board has departed from the Minsk National Airport, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko will take part in a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Bishkek on 14 April. The EAEU heads of state intend to discuss the implementation of the main directions of international activities of the Eurasian Economic Union. The main guidelines for the macroeconomic policy of the Eurasian Economic Union member states for the next few years will be discussed as well. Close attention will be paid to economic cooperation with third countries.
The same day Alexander Lukashenko is expected to attend an informal meeting of the heads of state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states. The presidents will talk about the state of security affairs, topical challenges and threats, and ways of dealing with them together.
On 12 April Alexander Lukashenko signed a package of documents relating to the advancement of Eurasian integration. The package includes the treaty on the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union. The document is aimed at advancing integration processes and increasing volumes of trade between the Eurasian Economic Union and the rest of the world.
The signed documents also deal with foreign policy, including the launch of negotiations on free trade with Iran, India, Singapore, and Egypt. Apart from that, the documents take care of unified customs regulations in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), coordination of the transport policy, digital agenda, common financial and electricity markets, and trade in services.
