Belarus president checks on harvesting campaign progress from the air

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko inspected progress of the harvesting campaign from the air on 19 September, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The head of state traditionally pays close attention to agriculture, which is central to the country's food security, contributes to the development of the export potential, and is viewed as a pillar of independence and sovereignty of Belarus. This time Alexander Lukashenko used a helicopter to examine progress and organization of autumn field operations in southern parts of Minsk Oblast and in Gomel Oblast.

In particular, Alexander Lukashenko watched the sowing of winter crops, the harvesting of potato, corn, sugar beet, and other kinds of field work.
